THE SHE CREATURE

Here is a great little model,It is of the She creature from the 1950's movie. This a little bit of a cheat for me,as this is a pre-painted kit with a great display base.It was produced by X-plus AMC monster film series,The others produced were the War of the colossal beast, and the mutant from The day the world ended movies. They are about 1/8 scale and would fit in a Aurora monster collection very nicely.
I did do a little work on the figure by dry brushing a lighter yellow green on the body and picking out the detail on the mouth and tusks and horns. A great item if you can find one ! recommended.

LUCIO FULCIS ZOMBIE RESIN KIT

This is a 1/6 resin kit sculpted by William Paqet,of the Lucio Fulcis 80's film Zombie flesh eaters. The kit is nicely detailed ,and comes with one of the best diorama bases ever released with a kit.

This was a hard one to paint as the character in the movie is covered in loose earth. So what i did was to to use a little white glue and mixed spice and sprinkled it on the glue ,and was very pleased with the effect and texture of the final finish. This kit i would recommend if you can find it.

HALCYON MOVIE JUDGE DREDD

Halcyon plastic model kit of the movie Judge Dredd 1/9 scale figure. This was one of the last injection plastic kits produced by Halcyon before they went out of business.

The kit has a great likeness to Silvester stallone ,you had choice of two heads , stalone/helmeted version.i removed the face detail from the helmet, painted the kit in a dark blue gray and then dry brushed humbrol tarmac blue to highlight costume.
Film bombed in the USA but i thought it was not a bad movie, and i guess it as a little cult following. So only two injection kits were released.

SHAWN NAGLE TERMINATOR KIT

Hi this is nice resin kit ,as a great pose ,nice detail , A great sculpt from Nagle.I have sold this built up,wished I kept it now, well I have the pictures.

RESIN 1/6 KITS

Here is some of my resin kits I have built.First is the the Fredric March Dr Jekyll as Mr Hyde.

I built the base in modelling clay of a cobbled street ,and scratched built a victorain gas street lamp.I tried to do it in the style of the Aurora monster of the movies Mr Hyde base.
sculpted by the Mike hill

POLAR LIGHTS LOST IN SPACE SMITH & ROBOT

This is the Polar lights up grade model of Dr Smith and Robot kit. What Polar lights did to the original Aurora kit was to add the Dr Smith figure added a bigger base, and slightly tweaked the Detail on the robot..what I did was add the Creature arts upgrade kit. What you got in the set was 2 sets of arms ,accurate bubble top ,and new neck collar ,and new chest plate,You don't need to use the latter as the Polar lights kit as accurate chest panel. You would need to use this part on the first issue kit by polar lights/Aurora copy.

Kit was painted with metallic aluminum, acrylic paint on the Dr Smith and base. The up grade creature arts kit is a must have for a better Lost in space Robot.

AURORA KING KONG MAKE OVER !!

Hi when I was a kid back in the early 1970'S I remember buying the Aurora glow kit,and thinking how great it was going to be when built.it was a bit disappointing .so I never ever rated the kit until the replacement head sculpted by mark van time was available.

WOW ! This new sculpted head changed the whole look of this kit.the original head was very soft and cute monkey like ,Now the replacement head ! ROARS ! One mean arse monkey .The head is resin with white metal fangs ,it fits were kong face fits into the neck on the kit.

My kit was sprayed in car primer black and the base in car primer grey, then the Kong was dried brushed in browns ,dark greys and dark blue to bring out the detail.base was dried brushed in tans ans light greys to bring out the detail of the rocky base. Fay hair was changed with little putty to have a more 30,s bob look. and to be a bit more accurate to the character.trees were picked out,and in the end this kit as a new great look to it ! recommended add on part.

Until next time keep your brushes clean !

AURORA DRACULA MAKE OVER

WOW IT AS BEEN SO LONG SINCE I LAST UPDATED !

iIhad a old tired aurora Dracula kit that i thought needed a make over .So i brought a replacement base from Night Owl models ,and a New Bela lugosi head from Posthumrous .

The kit part that was used from the aurora kit was just the body and hands.

The base included a little piece of wood to detail the window frame, and the head ! well it was fantastic likeness to lugosi.Kit and base was painted in acrylic paint and head and hand were detailed in oil paints, castle ruins was dried brushed to give texture to the stone work .

I added a little bit of a climbing root which was growing on the outside of my mom's house.

which was dried brushed and glued into place.i think these add on custom parts give tired old monster new blood in is veins ,see you next time and keep your brushes clean !
